Grand Canyon Adaptive Management Program

The Adaptive Management Program (AMP) is a process whereby the effects of Glen Canyon Dam operations on downstream resources in the Grand Canyon would be assessed and the results of those resource assessments would form the basis for future modifications of dam operations. An Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG), a Federal Advisory Committee made up of all interested parties, facilitates input to the Bureau of Reclamation and the Department of Interior on modifications to operating criteria or other management actions while complying with all applicable laws and permitting requirements. EcoPlan has provided technical support on resource assessments to interested parties participating in the AMP since the early 1990’s.
