Haz Mat Position -Senior - EcoPlan has an opening for a scientist with experience in conducting hazardous materials site assessments, preliminary initial site assessments and directing activities of subconsultants in more detailed investigations. The successful candidate will possess a degree in geology, hydrology, soils or a related discipline. Applicants with advanced degrees will be give preference, but experience may substitute for the advanced degree. This position offers full benefits including health insurance, 401K, paid personal time, and paid vacation days. Archaeological Project Director:EcoPlan is seeking a qualified archaeological principal investigator/project director (PI/PD). The PI/PD would be responsible for designing, conducting, and reporting archaeological research projects, as well as assisting our clients with regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in anthropology or archaeology (or equivalent experience), previous research, management and field experience, technical writing ability, a familiarity with current archaeological methods, and would be able to work both independently and as part of a research team. Preference will be given to applicants with previous PI/PD experience, knowledge of Federal and Arizona cultural resource laws, and demonstrated expertise in Southwest ceramic, lithic, faunal, or human osteological analysis that are currently based in the Tucson or Phoenix metropolitan areas. Familiarity with current issues in cultural resource management, the archaeology of Arizona and the American Southwest, and GPS/GIS would be beneficial, but is not required.

This is a full-time permanent position with competitive compensation commensurate with experience and includes vacation, medical, and retirement benefits. Applicants must be available for in-person interviews, must be able to provide their own transportation, possess a valid driver's license, and live (or be willing to relocate) within driving distance of either our Tucson or Mesa, Arizona offices.

Archaeological Field Technicians: EcoPlan is seeking multiple temporary archaeological field technicians to participate in an excavation at a large prehistoric village site near Cordes Junction, Arizona beginning in July 2008. The project will last approximately 12 weeks, and will include transportation to and from the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, local lodging, and meals/incidentals up to $34 per day. Wages for field technicians generally range from $12 to $15 per hour, commensurate with experience. Applicants must be able to work in extreme heat and lift a 50-pound load. EcoPlan also may wish to employ field technicians on additional survey (some in extremely rough terrain) or excavation projects throughout Arizona.

The successful applicant will have previous archaeological excavation experience and a familiarity with current archaeological methods. Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in anthropology or archaeology. Qualified Native Americans affiliated with the Akimel O'odham, Yavapai, Apache, Hopi or other southwest nations are encouraged to apply.
