EcoPlan has provided services in transfers of water from rural to urban environments since 1991. Currently, EcoPlan is assisting with the administration of a 35-year water transfer program that began in 2005. Farmers are compensated for fallowing lands and the water that would have used in growing crops is transported to the metropolitan Los Angeles area.
